ipoints Review

ipoints are one of the largest and oldest cashback shopping sites. They have over a million members so must be doing something right!

ipoints are, as the name suggests, based around 'reward points' rather than actual cash. But the principle is of course exactly the same as other cashback shopping sites - i.e. you earn points when you shop at linked stores. You can spend your points on a range of gifts and products at a smaller selection of stores. Points are not quite as flexible as actual cashback from someone like GreasyPalm, but trust me, you won't struggle too much to find something nice to spend your points on!

ipoints have quite a strong emphasis on surveys and gaining your opinion, so you can earn points every week from just answering very short opinon polls, or more in depth surveys. They don't have the largest selection of linked online stores though, with only 200 or so. That may well cover most of your needs, but other cashback shopping sites now have as many as 6 times this amount.

ipoints also miss out on the extra features. Where other cashback sites have tools to find the best deals or tools to ensure you always get your cashback, ipoints has yet to add these extras. (They must be in the pipeline though?)

Joining is free, and you get 10 ipoints just for signing up. You can earn an extra 30 ipoints by answering the more detailed questions on the application form. And 40 ipoints actually gives you enough points to claim the most basic rewards! But please don't get too excited as the 40 point rewards are not that great - but it is nice to know you can actually hit the 'payout' level on day 1.

ipoints: The Final Score

ipoints is a good solid reward points site. It's got a solid history and a lot of members. It's only failing though is not having kept up with the younger more dynamic sites like GreasyPalm and rPoints - both of which have started adding extra features to make finding the best online deals even easier. It does make sense to get the best price first, then get cashback on that - so I really can't imagine ipoints will let this shortfall go on for much longer. When they correct it, my rating will jump at least one point. Join now if you want to keep an eye on them and find out when they add new features.
